The British Informatics Olympiad is the national computing competition for schools and colleges.
1 November 2008 Registration is now available for BIO 2009. The first round will run from 24 November - 24 December 2008.
30 March The final of the 2008 BIO took place this weekend at Trinity College, Cambridge. The questions are now available, as is a list of the finalists. March Certificates have been distributed. Teachers who have not received their certificates should contact the organisers. 20 January All the students who have reached the final of this year's olympiad have now been invited. Congratulations to everyone who took part. Founded in 1995, the British Informatics Olympiad (BIO) aims to encourage students to take an active interest in information technology, and to allow them to meet and exchange ideas, through a challenging competition in computer programming. The BIO information pack gives a quick link to find out more about the BIO. Many other countries run competitions like the BIO, including the All Ireland programming competition for students in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic. |
