The British Informatics Olympiad is the national computing competition for schools and colleges.
31 October 2011 Information and registration is now available for BIO 2012 The first round will run from 21 November - 23 December 2011.
25-27 March The final of the BIO 2011 took place this weekend at Trinity College, Cambridge. The questions are now available, as is a list of the finalists. March Certificates have now been distributed, via schools, to all participating students. If your school submitted marks but has not received certificates please contact the organisers. Founded in 1995, the British Informatics Olympiad (BIO) aims to encourage students to take an active interest in information technology, and to allow them to meet and exchange ideas, through a challenging competition in computer programming. The BIO information pack gives a quick link to find out more about the BIO. Many other countries run competitions like the BIO, including the All Ireland programming competition for students in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic. |
