The 2006 British Informatics Olympiad Final

The 2006 British Informatics Olympiad final took place at Trinity College, Cambridge, from 31 March - 2 April.

The competition consisted of three stages.

On the evening of Friday 31st, students were helped to get working with their compilers with a practice programming question (not graded).

On the morning of Saturday 1st, two written questions were set:

After a break for lunch we moved to a computer room. Languages available were C/C++, Delphi and Visual Basic. The following questions were given to the finalists at the start, in no particular order:

Students were advised, at the start of the programming session, that did not need to attempt all of the questions.
